A Brief History
Developed by the University of Florida’s turfgrass breeding program, CitraBlue® St. Augustine is a new premium turf variety designed to improve on classic St. Augustine.

Where CitraBlue® Grows Best
Climate: USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 8-11. Great for warm weather in the Southern portions of the USA.
Soils: Adapts well to many soil types including clay and sandy soils.
Establishment & Growth
Planting Grid: Recommended 12" spacing in a grid pattern, 9" spacing will fill in faster.
Fill-In Time: Typically 3 months or less for full lawn coverage, depending on time of year, sunlight, watering, and soil prep. Faster fill-in with good site prep, consistent watering, light fertilization, and weed control during establishment.
Maintenance
Mowing Height: Maintain at 2–3 inches for optimal health and density.
Watering: Deep and infrequent once established (approx. 1 inch per week).
Fertilization: Light seasonal applications recommended (spring and fall).
